I will be passing by raton on sunday afternoon. I brought my 300wm and my 12ga. I was going to shoot some trap and 1000yd. If anyone wants to meet up at the NRA range let me know. Chris.

Well I just got home from the NRA whitting center. That is one hell of a facility. I shot a few rounds of trap first and then made my way up to the 1000yd range and to my supprise I had it all to myself. I spent a few hours shooting and then drove around to see all the other ranges. There was benchrest,smallbore silouette, large bore sillouette, a couple other ranges at varying distances. The shotgun ranges had 4 or 5 skeet and 8 or so trap ranges as well as sporting clays and 5 stand.
If you ever find yourself on I25 at the colorado/new mexico border it is only 4 miles off the interstate and worth the detour. I expect to make a trip or two back there before winter. If anyone wants to meet up let me know.

I finally got some of the pictures loaded. I had the 1000yd range all to myself. Since the trip I have gone nuts ordering bullets and tracking down powder and primers. I am itching to go back.

Will do. I am having the scope repaired on the 300wm. As soon as it makes it back I am wanting to make the trip. I am going back for a 50cal clinic in january but I believe the range has been reserved for that by the club.
