Another season is over for Rayners long range steel plate matches. With a possible high score of 645 and the highest score shot being a 390 it shows how challenging these matches can be. There are four or five shooters that were capable of shooting a 400 but the conditions this weekend were the worst we've had this year so the race for the first 400 will never be won. Tom has plans for adding a couple more stages and more targets next year so we'll have a new high score to chase after which might be 500.
We got to meet a lot of new shooters this year and hope that they enjoyed shooting there as much as we did. I know some competitors weren't used to the way our group called hits/misses but we did our best. It's not always easy to see a close miss/hit on a shot up target at these distances. Spotters aren't supplied as part of the match, we spot for each other in our group and try to have a spotter watching for everyone in our group but we're doing it voluntarily. Don't be afraid to offer to help spot, it's part of being a good competitor, if you don't want to help spotting then you really can't expect to have someone calling your shots.
Well, here are the results. With only 48 entries this was the smallest turnout of the year but also by far the worst conditions to shoot we've had. Carolyn will have the years results at the Awards Dinner. Nothing fancy but good times to enjoy good food and brag or whine about your shots at this seasons matches.

Congratulations Joe for another win, I bet Chris wishes he hadn't gambled on that lil one at 700 now.
Want to also thank Tom, Carolyn and everyone else that helped make this such a wonderful place for all of us to enjoy shooting. It's great that we can all get together to enjoy this hobby and also be with a group of great competitors.
