So I've been in the market for a new optic for my 7mm Rem Mag...
(Specs as follows)
Win M70 LA and Badger 20 MOA base
CDI DBM and Timney Trigger
Manners T5A with Rock Creek pipe chambered in 7mm Rem Mag throated for 180 bergers.
...and I've been looking at the Razor HD for a while. Shooting buddy has an EBR2B on his 338 Norma with 5 mil per rotation and from what I've seen and heard first hand, it's a great piece of equipment.
I've had 3 NXS's and I'm down to one right now, but I'm keeping that door open to see what comes out at SHOT and how long it would take to acquire one.
What I'd love to see from them is a 5-25x56 with a FFP MOAR and 35mm tube. Wishful thinking perhaps, but a few signals point that direction.
ANYWAY, in the mean time, I came across the RAZOR HD that has an MOA version of the EBR2B, which not only has specs as follows...
Travel per Rotation – 25 MOA
Max Elevation Adjustment – 125 MOA
But it also boasts 35 MOA of hold over in the reticle, and up to 65 MOA if you wanted to get greedy and zero at the top hash.
I've not seen ANYONE running this unit and I sort of wondered why.
Is there something about this feature set that I'm missing? The only thing I would like added is a little higher top end.
5-20 is OK, 5-25 is good, 5-30 is ideal in my opinion.
My old 8-32 NXS worked great to spot for my partner and scan lots of open area, but 8x at the lowest is a bit much for hunting
