Was wondering if anyone has experience with both reticles the 1c and 2c. I like the cleaner and less cluttered look of the 1c. But is there a huge advantage to getting the 2c? I dial for elevation and hold for wind mostly. Would eventually like to get into some unknown distance coarses.

Thanks,
Tommy

Some competitions have stages where dialing is prohibited, in those kind of scenerios the 2C can be very useful, maybe not as much as say an H59 but still way better than complete guessing like you'd be doing with a 1C. As far as ranging, neither is really set up properly for unknown distance like with a proper ranging reticle but it can be done. If I was going to be doing much unknown distance work, I'd get the reticle for the job. I like the inverted "T" mil based ranging reticle that nightforce has. It puts what you need near the reticle center and the deliniation of .1 mils is easier to read. Much easier to use IMO than trying to work the outer limits of the Vortex

Either will work well with ranging a target as they have .1 mil marks on the left, right and upper portion of the reticle lines. With those you can be very accurate as you can break down the mil reading to .05 mils.

The main differences between the two reticles is the small open center and lower quadrant Christmas tree markings of the 2C versus the 1C. Unlike some open center reticles, the 2C is small enough to be able to keep a very precise shot. I had used others in the past and found them too large but not so with the 2C. The Christmas tree markings are not overly cluttered and are enough to be able to make holds but not so many it makes it tough to observe.

I have both the 1C and 2C and both work well. If I had to choose one it would be the 2C. It has really grown on me over the past few years of using it. I too dial elevation and hold wind but as mentioned sometimes I need to hold both and even though in the past I have been able to hold on space for both wind and elevation, the 2C makes it much easier.

Don't plan on doing much unknown distance. They usually throw a little bit in shooting classes and it be nice to learn a little of it. Are the reticles identical besides the long lines in the bottom half of reticle which I can see how they help line up a target if you can't dial. Does anyone find the reticle just to busy if they are always dialing? Just feel like I would like the cleaner site picture of the ebr-1c more. It's a expensive purchase so if like to be completly happy with my purchase

I dial for elevation as well with the 2C and have never found the "tree" to be intrusive in any way to my view of the target or for scanning. If I don't need it for a shot, frankly, I forget it's there. Vortex did a nice job of balancing out "view" but still having the usefulness of a Christmas tree usability. Take an H59 for example, while it can help you "tighten up your shots" if all you can do is hold, its a very busy reticle & does clutter the reticle quite a bit which can be a bit irritating. You can get used to anything really, but I think Vortex found a very good compromise. I think it's better to have it than not, the old saying "it's better to have it and not need it" than the alternative applies here!

Yes as I said they are the same except for the center open and markings in lower quadrant.

No I do not find the markings too busy at all but that is a personal choice.

Now that I am on the computer and not phone I can post a couple pics. Here is the 1C and the second pic is the 2C. Not the best pics so don;t hold it against the scope but it gives you an idea of what they look like at a 400 yard target.

The 2C is in a PST 6-24x but looks the same in the Razor II

Thanks for all the input guys. I'm putting in the order for a 4.5-27x56 EBR-2c. I plan on mounting it on my GAP 260. If I can get it mounted and sighted in I'll be using it in a upcoming precision coarse at the end of July.

You made a good choice. I shoot with the 2c on my razor and it is perfect for holds whwn you cant dial elevation.. Its not too cluttered at all. I hunt with my rifle that has the razor on it sometimes and where i hunt i can do it prone. I can have a deer pop out at ranges from 125 yards go a little over 500. I may not have time to dial so i will use the reticle. It is perfect for me in situations like that.

I"m sure I'll be happy with it. Only complaint I have seen on these is weight. For me its not going to be an issue as this rifle is shot 95% prone. I want to say that Scott at Liberty Optics took care of me with his July 4th/ Anniversary sale. It is the best price I have seen on these. If your looking to get into the Razor line or add another one to the collection I would strongly email him for hide pricing during this sale.

Yeah i emailed him and the price he gave me slighlty beat out the price i got from vortex with their mil discount. If i had the cash right now i would have a gen 2 on order.
