So getting ready to send off by 50% off certificate for a new 4.5-27 gen II. The question I have is I have a 3-18 with the 7c and like the lack of clutter. That being said this will be a 100% comp gun in 6gt. Can some one help me that shoots a fair amount of PRS if and why i should go ahead and get either a h59 or tremor reticle. Thanks for your thoughts!

Horus is trash. Usually new guys that don't know what they want yet go for them. I was one of them.
I'm puzzled about the Tremor ret. I understand how they work & how to calibrate for a particular rifle but, have not used the tremor yet.
Just wondering about your comment. Going by the 2018 "What the Pro's are using" in the reticle breakdown, they have listed most of the top PRS shooters using the tremor.
Is that still the case? I can't help but wonder why the best shooters would use them at all if the tremor was no good. I can't see them trialing the tremor in competition when they would obviously evaluate it during training.
I'm not sure why so many seem to be against the tremor. It seems to make sense to me but, I can't speak from experience. Is there something about the tremor that's not widely spoken of?

I dont think most people were using the tremor in 2018. Look at that chart again, unless I'm looking at it dumb.

For me, I want to use the center of the optic as much as possible, so that I can spot impacts/misses. I'm also a magnification whore so its best if I keep the impacts center. Having tons of lines/dots that I have to count makes it easy for me to get lost and recount if the layout is not intuitive.

I use to think its was as easy as watching splash and moving the closer dot on the target but its tougher than that. Unless your shooting at a target with a berm right behind it, its not as doable. Basically means your looking at a Picasso painting while trying to focus on the target and the bullet impact; it gets distracting whether you want to admit it or not.

Last month there was a guy trying to sell me on it, but I didn't try to explain that I went down that rabbit hole. He would use holdovers and I'm sure he wasn't able to watch his impacts because he was using the bottom 3rd of his optic. He shot like ass but some lessons have to be learned the hard way. I tried telling him to dial but he was adamant about holdovers. He didn't shoot too well.

Yeah, I appreciate what you're saying. Things are rarely as simple as we imagine them to be. I have to admit, I have 2 scopes with Xmas tree rets & I find them rather distracting at times when trying to see the target well. I'm constantly finding myself trying to look over top of the clutter of the reticle. I thought that the tremor was kind of opaque instead of solid black dots or, is that the new Schmidt ret I'm thinking of?
Anyhow, I've always liked rets like the H2CMR, MSR & MSR2. They are simple, elegant & pleasant to look through.

Most of what I see on the YouTube seems like they would be used in professional situations rather than competition use. With dialing in prs I would think I would be on the main stadia lines for wind unless I run out of dial or a really bad firing solution and decide not to dial and holdover both elev and wind. I am with you all above but would like to hear some lobby for them just to understand.

I use a Razor with the 7c for comps and it usually works great. Holdover stages can be kind of tricky with half mil holds and wind age dots only on the mils, but those are few and far between. It’s also still usable, just not ideal.

I actually prefer the 2c to the newer 7c. FOR ME - the slightly less clutter and the placement of numbers is easier to use the 2c. However, most prefer the floating dot. With my eyes, it looks like a cross, so open center is better. Its not held me back, but Im not a top level shooter by any stretch.

Go look at several and see what your preference is. Theyre pretty common at most any match. You can also see the reticles compared in the Viper PST Gen2 series. Not same glass, but same reticle.

Would you have rather had the other revivals on those few stages. Would the have made a difference in your opinion? Would the extra marks in the reticle been frustrating in the other stages where you didn’t really need them?

That is where the last part of my post comes in, practice. With it there is no problem making any hold with a 7C. I do hold overs/unders and wind holds all the time. No issues.

No, I haven't felt lacking or wishing for a different reticle in any of those. The H59 and T3 are both annoying to me. Like Rob said, just practice and you get used to it.

the first few times i used the H59 it seemed busy, but over time my mind seems to have adjusted and it doesn't seem obtrusive at all.
it's there when i am using it, and i can ignore it when i am just scanning.
