Just recently bought and rcbs charge master lite and so far the thing seems phenomenal. While looking up videos on operating, functions, cleaning methods, reviews etc. I noticed some people having to use McDonald's straws for the charge master 1500. Now with the chargemaster lite, the dispenser has grooves in it to help with the trickle process. My question to you all is, has anyone had to use a McDonald's straw in their charge master lite?

I have not thus far. It trickles well, and the grooves seem to help...at least it does for me, using H4350 and XBR8208.

I also use a Chargemaster 1500 next to my CM Lite. The CM 1500 I use does have a straw in it and it does help, or at least it seems like it helps. I've always adjusted the settings alot on it. IT throws considerably faster than my Lite, although 1 out of every 20 or so throws, it either over charges a tad, or hiccups on me. Its also 9 years old and was not treated well the first 6 years.

Just my experience.

Much appreciated for the response Gustav,
It does seem to take a minute or two to get the charge out. But as long as they come out accurate I'm good to go on it, I've only ran vithavouri 550, blc2, and accurate 4260 through it for my 308 so far there seems to be no hiccups.

Ya since I got my second CM, life is much easier now. I was very close to just loading my .223 precision rounds with a powder measure cause I didn't like waiting on my chargemaster to throw. Having the second one keeps up with how fast I load on my 550. Rarely do I have to wait, and if I do, its only a couple seconds.

It was either save up and get an Autotrickler and FX120 scale or get another Chargemaster. I bought a Chargemaster Lite on sale for $200, and never looked back. I also don't shoot ELR or Competition of any sort, so while the FX120 setup is legit, I felt I did not need it and I used the extra money on other gun stuff.

That 8208 throws pretty well.

It does indeed. Its definitely my new favorite powder. IF I can get it for the same price I used to (in the future), I may just buy a bunch and switch all .223 loads to it as well.

I've heard it also does well from a powder measure as well, specifically a Dillon.

This, pretty much verbatim. Have both. Out of the box the lite runs a bit better but I prefer the 1500 after tweaking
