RCBS Gold medal dies. Full length or bushing?

You’d want the Mandrel to be a alittle bit bigger than the bushing to make sure the mandrel touches the entire surface of the interior of your case necks. That’s why I went bushing die at .002” smaller than the neck diameter after I run my mandrel die.

But if you run multiple brands of brass you’ll likely have more variation in neck thickness...so some brass would be sized more, and some brands of brass would be sized less.
My neck on a loaded round measures 0.291 my bushing is .289 and sized neck is around .2895-.290
Some of the cases are dinged inward and that doesn’t come out with the bushing.
What size mandrel would I need to get that out? Would I need to get a different bushing first?

Been a while, this was with 6.5mm bullets correct?

First you’d want a smaller bushing, something like .286 probably. Then you’d want a mandrel sized .262-.263 depending on the neck tension you wanted
