Bifurcate post, Has anyone used '17 in the 6mm Rem?

Second, is there any advantage to using RE17 over RE15 in the 223AI with 75 to 80 grain bullets?
I have a 20" barrel and my gut tells me I'd need a longer barrel to appreciate the extra oomph of '17.

I burn Re#17 in my 6x284. It produces about 200 FPS faster then H4350. I can easily push a 70gr Nosler BT at 4,000 FPS along with 1/4 MOA at 100 yds.

I have tried it in the 6mm rem with 85 grain TSX's coated in hBN. 28 inch barrel 3550 average but 1-1 1/2 inch groups. Still playing with it. Definetly more barrel is better

I've loaded up some 87gr V-Max's and 95gr SMK's using RL-17. If work doesn't get in the way I'll do some load tests this weekend and report back. Gun is a 24" barreled Savage.
