Actually I can do a functional 80 with a hand drill. Lathe would give me a lot more options including rifling and chambering some barrels ifn I had to.
Please cite your source for this. I truly don't believe 70% of Leo's would fire on citizens if directed to do so. A large portion of Leo's are former military.

I simply cannot resist getting into this discussion. The good ole USA has a problem and it is huge. You see at any given time there is only 3 days supply of groceries in your local supermarket. They run on just in time inventory. Below is a map of the truck traffic in the USA.
The people who want the guns live in the cities. If truck traffic stops guess what happens.
There is a rush to the supermarkets to get food. The shelves will empty and fights begin. The haves start getting robbed by the have nots who probably have illeagle guns. Any Loyalist troops/cops will have to be pulled into the cities to maintain order. So much for your "Advanced national guard".
As the food disapears so does the will to fight. Now the first argument you hear is; they will form convoys. And the answer is from where to where? What cities are the "convoys" going to pass through with out the fine inhabitants of the city demanding their share. Next they will argue that they will use air power. Good luck hitting a sniper along all those miles of roads.

As someone who has worked on the road in the trucking and construction industry for quite a while, and who knows plenty of others in the energy, utilities, and water/infrastructure maintenance, I can attest to just how deep the urban globalists and gun grabbers have got their balls in a hydraulic vice lined with razor sharp blades. And newsflash: Most of the guys who work in the abovementioned fields happen to be freedom loving and God fearing roughnecks with very high rate of gun ownership and full dedication to preserving the RKBA. If we collectively wanted to fuck the statists up, the scale of damage and chaos that it will cause will make it an act of atrocity. The majority of married military personnel live off post. And a good deal of the single ones too.
Outside of a few minor TDY assignments, I didn't live a single day of my six year active duty in military housing.

Most useful operation for a Lathe on making a AR lower is to attach a 0% to a piece of square stock in a 4 Jaw chuck to bore and single point thread the buffer tube threads.
An 80% could be made with a palmgren style milling crosslide vise but the Pain in the Ass factor is high and the setups not worth it. Fund a junk chicom ,barely better than a drill press round column mill (or better yet a clapped out tired Bridgeport) if you want to finish a "pile" of 80's....
For another perspective, that was half a world away.

This all boils down to one idea. If we have weapons, we CAN fight back. Remove firearms and what is to stop a group from rounding up those who disagree with them? Wasn't that what happened in Europe? In China? In so many examples in history it's ridiculous...
