Sometimes I quote myself:
LOL....I know, I know. I knew it was going to be a little high but I wanted to get this rifle shooting first and figure out the perfect mount later.

Dacam - nice rifle. Congrats!
Maybe a little late to this party...
I hear what you are saying... but $400 is pretty big money just to cover cleaning if you don't need the other benefits of a folder.
A cheaper fix is to buy a longer cleaning rod with a slimmer handle......
This is a ProShot 42" rod
In this pic the tip (without brush or jag) is around 1" clear of the muzzle on a 26" barrel with AI brake with a Mike Lucas boreguide in the receiver. A 48" rod would get you clear without the need to run over the butt pad (you can always remove it) and drawing blood!!
This thread has great timing...I just received my AE MK III, yesterday morning, and almost had a case of buyers regret. It is my 1st tac-rifle, and the most I've ever spent on a firearm.
The build quality of this gun is incredible. Closes up like a bank vault.
Thanks to everyone in this thread for all of the positive things said about the AE...it has sure eased my mind.
Can't wait to shoot this thing now. I'm putting a Bushnell G2DMR, in a AI 18moa mount on it.
I was just about to pull the trigger (no pun intended) on an AI AE MKIII, but I decided to wait and see what AI replaces it with in January. I still may go with a MKIII. I'm planning on putting a Schmidt & Bender 5-25x56 on it, and I'd like some advise on a mount. MHS recommends an Murphy 20 MOA rail, and I am thinking of a Spuhr mount 1.18. It's not the least expensive mount, but I've heard nothing but good about them.
Congrats Beefman, I totally love mine.
I have a question though for everyone. I have shot 4 rounds at 100yds to set my zero, and 24 rounds at 100yds with 175g SMK to get my OCW load.
What I have noticed is that I have a lot of copper streaks in the grooves of the barrel all the way out to the muzzle. IMO it is kinda heavy copper fouling.
Accuracy was really good, half to sub-half groups.
Is this common with LW barrels? I have stripped it out with Sweets 762 but there is still some in there. Am I going to have a problem with copper fouling.
