I know I am usually behind the news as I don’t view it much anymore. Today I was told at the airport that I have a little over a year left before my drivers license is no longer valid for DOMESTIC travel.

Seems like since many states issue licenses to illegals, we now need a license with a symbol (gold or black star) to use it as a travel document

I opted for "real ID" when I last got my license renewed.

Required I have a birth certificate with an embossed seal, social security card (non laminated), passport (in date), or concealed carry license and there were a few other acceptable proofs of citizenship/lawful residency.

I forget what I had that they questioned but it was CCW license and a LEO ID that gave them proof I was a citizen.

Now you would think "Hey great the state is ensuring only citizens have what is generally accepted as proof of citizneship/legality - a drivers license"

Not so because tardo MA is issuing another license that doesnt require any of that shit "for the convenience of people that never intend to travel or do those things lack of Real ID will prevent"

Sure Im supposed to think those alternative licenses will be going to legit people.

We are members of a second class citizenship.

The non citizens get rights we are not privy to and they get all our rights in addition.

Shit they get grace for committing crimes you or I would go to jail for.

Just got my DL renewal notice in the mail the other day. While I don't intend to fly anywhere the very idea that as a US citizen I have to jump through extra hoops to fly elsewhere IN THE US is infuriating. Revelations in the bible mentions some things that are starting to look familiar.

So if you want to do shit like free legal people do - travel the country, serve the country, use federal services you need real id but for voting, getting welfare and driving you are good to go with "Non Real ID".

How do you receive federal benefits if you cant get into the federal facility to sign up for them?

My wife went to the DMV in Commiefornia in hopes of getting a real ID. She was told she had to get a County Certificate of marriage. The one issued by the courthouse was not valid, her birth certificate from the hospital was not valid. We had to ask for county recorder for copies of our marriage certificate $35 and had to go to the county she was born in to get a county certificate of live birth $25. Then waited 3 weeks for an appointment to submit all this. Women have it tougher as their name changes when they are married. Sucks Big Time.

Me too. I also have a Global Entry ID

It is just the principle involved.

Although I agree with the need for a wall, I sometimes wonder whether it is more about keeping people in versus keeping people out

That's an easy question to answer.
The non real ID automatically excuses you from federal jury duty because you aren't allowed into the courthouse.

Real ID? Congratulations! You have been impaneled on the jury. This is an important and necessary civic duty. The trial is expected to last no longer than four months. Please make alternate arrangements for your mortgage payments, vacations, life as you used to know it, etc. Your employer cannot fire you but they don't have to pay you either. To make up for that, you will be paid a generous stipend of $10 per day. Be at the courtroom at 8:00 am promptly for a session that has never begun prior to 10:00 am. Thank you for your service.

Real ID not required for air travel if you have a passport. Yes, this Real ID bullshit is because states like mine started issuing DL’s to illegals. Now, us Citizns need to jump through more hoops because we’re Citizens.

You can thank states that issue DL's to illegals for the real ID requirement. DL's issued from those states are used to obtain other fraudulent documentation as well as government benefits. I live in NM which is ground central for ID fraud.
