Real world velocity out of a 24 to 26" 7MM-08

You guys who are shooting the 7MM-08s what are you getting for "Realworld" velocities out of your 7MM-08s with the 162AMAX or the 168 Bergers in the 24 to 26" barrels??

I only want the velocities of the 162 to 168gr bullets in the 26 inch or shorter barrels. I know some of you shoot the 140s or longer barrels but we are looking at the 160gr+ bullets only. Thanks guys!!!

162 amax is 2690 fps @ 4650 ASL

26", three groove, 1 in 9 twist, Benchmark barrel mounted to a TRG action. Pushing 162 grn A-max at 2800 fps using H4350 with RP brass and Tula large rifle primer.
I have pushed them faster, but started to see high pressure signs on my RP brass.

I'm going to weigh in here with a data point even though it's not real world 7-08 data I think it will be helpful when taken with the data above.

Over the last year or so I've done a lot of load workups with the 165gn Sierra Game Kings (HPBT and SPBT) for my hunting 308 with a stock Rem 26" varmint barrel.

Varget (as much as 44.9gn),
seated to 2.815 (to make mag length),
CCI primers,
depending brass (I've used Winchester and LC)
I can get right at 2700FPS

With a custom barrel you may get more. My 24" Rock Creek 308 runs faster then my stock 26" by 50FPS or more for the same loading though I have not tried this load.

Effectively the same case capacity, similar bullet weight, though a little longer bearing surface on the .284 than the .308, and taken with the data provided in the posts above I think you've got your answer. I'd guess on the high side of 2700 but less than 2750.

I'm glad you asked this, I've been noodling this exact question for the last few weeks thinking of re-barreling my hunting rifle to a 7-08, in fact I spent half an hour on JBM today looking at possible loadings and ballistics.

I hunt with a .280 AI and would love to build a long-range rifle in that chambering, but with this 7mm-08 numbers, but I've already got a short-action in 6mmAI that I may convert to 7mm-08 when the barrel is toast. Good info, guys!
