Gunsmithing Rebarreling a bergara

I was just looking for this same information yesterday, and found nothing. Hopefully we both find an answer here.
So I looked on their site because I was curious if they sold barreled actions (hint hint get on that bergara) they do sell barrel blanks and AR barrels as well. I think an email to bergara is much needed at this point

Bergara did sell barreled actions at one point. As their popularity has gone up, they decided to allocate all parts to complete rifles. I believe they have plans to sell barreled actions again in the future.

I posted in another thread that from my email they offer the premier line only as a barreled action for 1200
Not too bad considering what you get with a flutes bolt, a worked reciever, stainless cerekoted barrel, trigger tech trigger ECT.
We've done a few. No issues at all. Easy stuff. Just a typical push feed setup.
I remember reading somewhere that Bergara would rebarrel it at the factory for $600 and keep it under Warranty. I don’t remember where I read it though.
So excuse my gunsmithing ignorance. But are their any barrels you can buy that are prefit and just need to have headspace adjusted or would you need to buy a blank and have then entire thing machined
I called Bergara a couple of weeks ago and was told barrel replacement for my B14 HMR would cost $500 complete.
Well there you go. Hard for a smith to beat that price
From what I understand you send in the entire rifle they replace the barrel and provide a test target.
I knew it wouldn't be a remage style but I don't know enough that if a 700 barrel would work. Like if one was made for a 700 and threaded, like say someone was selling one they decided not to use in a build.
Then adjust headspace.

The Bergaras use a coned bolt face and the Remage barrels won't work. LRI makes them as seen above and Match Grade Machine makes them. IIRC both need a phone call since it's not on their websites.
So in short the above companies makes a remage for a flat bolt face.. ao a barrel nut system for a b14 receiver..

So I emailed NSS to see what they offered and the method of imstall. Once I hear back from them I'll let everyone know what they said
Sorry I did! Basically bergara won't give up their plans so they would need an action and bolt on hand. Then they could make what ever you want.
If I decide to rebarrel it I may just see if they could make me a berage barrel and nut and then just save the plans for the rest of us. Would be pretty nice eh but one of us has to bite the bullet

All I did with mine is lap the bolt lugs with my cut case, spring, lapping compound and marker method.
Now back to the rebarreling, I'm having a really tough time understanding why a barrel nut remage system would be so different because of the bolt. You chamber the barrel, thread the tenon and the nit adjusts head space.. what am I missing here???
Also it is of note that on the hmr the recoil lug is captured in the receiver. The front of the receiver is machined to hold the recoil lug alignment in a very premium custom receiver looking way

Blueprinting is a loaded question, any commercial action can be improved. But for what gain?
My B14 would shoot 1/2" to 3/4" all day long. Will blueprinting it make it a 1/4" or 3/8" gun?

I agree on the blueprinting..

Now I know an off the shelf remage won't work, the question at hand is can a barrel be made, chambered and cut like a bergara hmr barrel just with a remage style barrel nut to let us swap barrels at home

The bergara is the new kid on the block so there is not a lot of work done to them and not many with the barrels shot out.
There is no reason that barrels with a nut cannot be made for a bergara.

They will do it for $500 on the premier actions.. only bummer is they keep the same contour as the factory set up... If you're looking for a different profile you have to go thru their custom shop
Any gunsmith can remove yours and use it as a templet and make a barrel nut system like the original Bergara BMP. MGM did that for me. They have the specs from Bergara USA. I know mine was the first one they made. Have they done any since? I couldn't tell you. The best thing to do is call and talk to Andy or Dylan.Ok so I'm aware of what your talking about. Not sounding like a no it all but that's kinda what I was getting at above I think some we're taking it too literally as a remage would screw on in and pew pew

If you don't mind what did it run you and how was the performance of the system, accuracy and fitment?
Anyone aware of what it will take to convert a remage barrel to a berage barrel? Im hoping the chamber wont have to be totally cut off and redone. I have a 6mm Criteron Remage barrel that I would like to use now that I swapped out the remington in my chassis to a bergara.

My guess is they have to take a fair bit off the back of the breech to fit the coned bolt face, run the reamer in the required amount to adjust the chamber depth. If the tenon length is different that will need to be corrected as well as lengthening the threads if the tenon is longer.
I am looking to rebarrel a Bergara B14, Bergara hasn't been very helpful. Did anyone see the specs for the cone feature? Apparently from what I'm reading it is not a 60 deg cone like Remington uses.
Who are some smiths who are willing to rebarrel these? I'm interested in buying one of these rifles, they're supposed to be releasing a left hand rifle sometime this year. $500 is cheap for a rebarrel at the factory, but hopefully the aftermarket will catch up and broaden its offerings on contours, twists and chamberings. The competitive cost to get into shooting vs. building a custom is very attractive, but we need to keep them running.

So it is off to Bergara, for a new pipe, going from 6.5 creed to 6 creed. Guess the new barrel will burn faster than the old.
For 500 + shipping they re-barrel it with the production stainless barrel used on the LRP, cerakote the barrel or entire gun (forgot which one)
and take the gun to the range and test it. Guess in a few weeks I will find out.

Wow. you got a deal; I used to think the re-barrel would be in chro-moly but new barrel in stainless, chamber redone for new caliber, cerakote, reassembly and test fire - that's a deal.
I believe that due to the stock inlet the barrel would be replaced with the factory contour.

If it is a stainless barrel then it is most likely a standard Bergara Premier barrel which are also cerakoted in their Lawrenceville , GA workshop where the Premier, and Custom rifles are built. According to a friend a custom rifle will also get a Bergara barrel, unless the customer specifies a different maker, some of which also use Bergara barrels by the way. In any case I don't believe you'll be disappointed - Dan Hanus and Co. are quality craftsmen.
So I got my Bergara back from BPI, went from a 22" 6.5 Creed to a 24" 6mm Creed.
Looks like BPI cerakoted the entire rifle, it looks great.

So It appears to be a shooter.
Throat is good, when I initially measured there was some debris in the chamber keeping the case shoulder from seating fully forward in the chamber causing erroneous measurements.

hmm but $500 to rebarrel a $750 gun if it’s the standard b-14 hmr. Or even cheaper in the $600s for a hunter. Might as well buy a new gun and sell the parts except barrel.
