Hello,
I have a Tikka action that I want to rebarreled to either 308 or 6.5 creedmoor. I currently see two options: Patriot Valley Arms and Criterion. Both have pretty good reviews but I wanted to know what opinions were on one vs the other
Thanks

I'm sure PVA does great work I just dont have an experience with them.

I can tell you that my criterion barreled tikka prefit is a hammer. Tim at Solid Accuracy spins them up for them. He will help you with any questions that you may have and walk you through the process. Mine will easily shot .2 MOA if I do my part. Give him a call and he will get you taken care of.

Carbon Six also sells Tikka pre-fits (if you want a CF barrel). They run about the same price as the others mentioned...

I've been recently pondering pulling the trigger on one of their barrels to see how well they shoot.

I think either will work well for you. I'm on my second Tikka prefit from PVA and have been very happy with them. I also have a Criterion prefit barrel on a Remington 783 that is tremendous. You can't go wrong with either.

This is off topic so I apologize for it now.

Does the 783 use the standard Remage barrel?

Every precision rifle I own has a PVA barrel on it except my gas gun. My old tikka had a pva prefit and was stupid accurate. Josh may have some tikka barrels on the shelf. Give him a call Monday or hit him up here. @bohem

We have some tikka prefits here that are not spoken for but they're not mainstream stuff. I know that we have a 308 that has been here for ages in a light palma, there's a 20" 6 Creed that is here. But we do have a pretty good repetoire of stuff available for Tikkas i 6.5 Creed

I don't get on the Hide much because we're pretty busy cutting chips and I don't spend my days at a desk trolling forums while employees cut barrels. I still end up cutting about 70% of the chambers myself here so if you want more info please call or email as I am unlikely to see a question to this thread for a couple days.
