I’d like a chassis rifle with folding stock for hunting in 308. Something like the Tikka T3X TacA1 is along the lines of what I’d like to near more about. Eurooptic had a sale the other day on these with scope and I should have jumped on it!

So, any others of similar quality (or better) I should consider? They look to be around $1400-1800 on gunbroker and that’s about my limit. I’ve a 2.5-12 Accupoint for it until I can afford better. Or I may just put the thermal on it.

Cheers in advance.

Could just buy a Tikka T3X in 308 - not the TacA1, run of the mill T3X. XLR offers a folding chassis that's lightweight (Element Magnesium), as does KRG (Whiskey 3), and I'm sure there are more.

Personally, for a hunting gun, I'd be looking at a non-metal chassis if you hunt in the cold.

Comfort. Holding onto a piece of metal in cold weather is NOT FUN. Even through gloves, absolutely saps the heat out of your hands to the point you can't feel your fingers. Obviously not an issue with a target gun, but if you're hunting with temperatures below freezing, it makes a difference.

OP, not to rub salt in the wound, but my dad grabbed that deal at EuroOptic and boy was it a HELL of a deal. Bummer you missed out. If I wouldn't have had my Q The Fix in 6.5 and had already ordered a custom 300WM I would have grabbed one myself. Hopefully you find something similar.
