Just got my 30P (no dash) back from TBAC. I sent it in three weeks ago to get recored with the Ultra baffle stack and converted to CB mount, the guys turned it around fast. Typical TBAC quality, the machine work is impeccable, and it only weighs 1.5 ounces more than my Ultra 9. Can't wait to get it out to the range.
Thank you TBAC for making great cans and backing them up with great CS.

i did my 30BA right after they started offering the recore. It is even more awesomer now. Converted over to the CB and couldnt be happier. When i was emailing Zak about doing the work, i told him i was really worried about being without it and I hope they didnt mess it up (joking) because i had just shot a deer the day before at about 100 yards and the front shoulder bone break was louder than the report from my 308.

Great company, great service, wish i could own their entire line. They even did a special 22L-1 for me way back when with no taper on the rear.

I also sent my 30BA in for the re-core program a couple of years ago. Very pleased with the results, but now my 30CB9 has become the safe queen that the 30BA was before....guess I can't really think of any reason not to go ahead & send it back for re-core too...

Could someone explain the benefits here? I've got a 30BA that has the CB2BA adapter, so I'm using all CB mounts. $785 gets me well on my way to another suppressor, so is a little extra suppression worth it, or is there more to it?

You get the ability to use the CB (which you don't need) and also the Ultra core which you would want (I imagine) so just depends. For me it was great as I upgraded two direct thread 30P-1's, got the benefits and it was just a repair, so no forms, no fees and no wait. If I had purchased two Ultra's I would have had the forms, fees, wait, and then two 30P-1's just sitting in the safe.

The performance of the suppressor will mimic the suppression and cartridge ratings of the respective ULTRA core that it was upgraded to. Its weight will generally be an average of the original model's weight and the new ULTRA model's weight. This is because the additional weight savings of the ULTRA tube design will not be realized, but the core will be lighter.

In my case, my 30P was a direct thread. All my rifles had been upgraded to CB brakes, so the 30P was sitting it the safe not being used. So for me, upgrading to a CB mount plus advancing a few generations of baffle design was worth it.

I see. Having an existing 30P would reap the most benefit. The TOMB mount guys don't get nearly as much for their money. Thanks.
