Between SoG and AG, the most positive thing I see is both shows encourage women to become more active with firearms. Something I like because it makes my wife more interested. The drama and false suspense is pointless, but it helps put eyes on the tv these days. I honestly dont see anything that is damaging to gun owners though. Ignorant? A little. Sloppy work? Sure. And full of bullshit in both shows to boot. SoG has been getting several celebs on to spice things up and AG, well....<span style="color: #FF0000">the wife n daughter eye candy are about all its got going for now</span>. They both like to blow shit up, meh, wouldnt miss it if that went away. With all the other crap on now a days, these two shows arent the worst of em. </div></div>

Re: Red Jacket

Havnt seen any of her in the last few episodes ive seen, just the usual asinine pricing.

Oh hot chick you'd like us to build a double pistol from damn near scratch and make it match your 200k rifle. Ok will be 3g's. Oh you 0nly want to spend 2, ok, because your high maintenance.

Biker dude you want a production .357 revolver, with some mild upgrades. That'll be $3500, but i'll cut you a deal for 3k.

WHAT!

ya i just gloss over that. i have a 686+ and was thinking ok, its ~600 so thats 2400 for a trigger job and some engraving?!?!

Re: Red Jacket

I hate scripted shows. The demo shoot they do at each ending is so gay. The Total Recall promo episode was a real nice touch. I wonder what that cost the studio for a 1 hour product placement.

Fact is, no one would watch a show on real gunsmithing or gun-building. I have been trying to get my son to work in the shop with me, but he says its too boring, just doesn’t compete with World of Warcraft, etc… So, my proof is, if it was reality no one would watch… </div></div>

I don't know. It can get pretty exciting at the gun shop when a hunter walks in with his broken Benelli SBE II thinking he's stuck buying a new gun and sending the broken one off to the factory. He's driven from across the country to shoot ducks or dove or whatever...This dude thinks he's skeeerooed...now the gunsmith steps in and happens to have the part because he knows what breaks on unbreakable guns like the Benelli so he takes it back into the dark depths of the shop and....viola! The day is saved. The hunt can continue. Maybe something closer to that reality and of course, hot daughters are always welcomed.

Now here is the really scarey thought. I spoke with a friend I know who's an instructor at Murrey state. He said most of the new enrolls they have were inspired by Sons of Guns or American Guns.

American guns and Red Jacket firearms are flooding the shooting community with massive numbers of stupid people. I work gun shows all over GA. If I hear "OH this is that gun on Suns uh guns." or "OH do you have the gun from American Guns." or "I can make this full auto by grinding down the firing pin. They did it on red jacket." one more time I'm going to pull my hair out!

God forbid if someone asks me if I watch either one of these shows. I simply say "No I don't watch them." They always proceed to tell me why I should watch the shows and how awesome they are and OH HOW, SO COOL THE BUILDS ARE.

I don't even bother arguing anymore. You can't argue logic with someone who does not value that logic exists!

Re: Red Jacket

Ok first these idiots would not know the first thing about precision.
Watch the show there tool kit consist of a hammer punch tape and a drill. Most of the cnc work is done by the guy who left.

Second this show makes the gun owner look like a total ass. All it shows is we want to blow shit up and fire automatic weapons..

Ok that sounds cool.. You get the point.....

Don't pull your hair.....pull theirs out! maybe it'll stop the insanity.

Cheers,

Re: Red Jacket

The explanation of head space on Sons of Guns tonight was the most scientific explanation in the history of firearms. I'm sure it cleared the air for a lot of folks. The only head space in that shop is the space in their heads where a brain normally is

I'll try to find it on YouTube for you

. During their "explanation" of head spacing, you could tell the jackwagon in the picture above was extremely uncomfortable explaining it and really had no idea. I'm sure Will just taught him the ever dependable eyeball method.

In my search for said video I ran across a FAQ on the RJF site trying to explain away all of the issues with their Saiga12 shotguns. I can't believe people buy their stuff.

An awesome quote from their site.... If you can dream it, we can build it, so dont limit your imagination to what's listed here!
(as long as its legal, and doesn't look ridiculous)

Re: Red Jacket

I spent a few hours reading all the post last night. I couldn't stop it was too funny! Thanks for the laugh everyone. On a serious note I have wanted them to cancel this show since it first started. They are an embarrassment to all real gun enthusiast everywhere.

Re: Red Jacket

Ok fellers, time to cast your votes! If you could authorize a UAV strike on one shop or another, all employees present, sans film crews, which do you choose?

American Guns is cheesy and prices are inflated for tv but the chicks are hot and there's some semblance of family values and variety of the(realistic) builds but I'd really like to rid the planet of that snaggletooth bitch and her band of merry misfits so my vote is to RedJakkit the game changer.

Re: Red Jacket

They blocked me from posting on their Facebook page. They have post of their POS AR's and I called them out on them. Of course they have a bunch of idiot fans who want them and think they are the best gun to ever hit the market. I also posted a link to this thread lol. Perhaps that is why they blocked me?

Re: Red Jacket

It's official boys, Red Jacket just replaced NSWC Crane.

Just a few weeks ago they built the rifle that killed Bin Laden, now this week designing a "free fall shotgun" with a rifle barrel for CQB purposes...I couldn't make that up(no shit that hasn't ever been dun before Red Jacket). They officially won me over though when Will busted out the 10,000ft. tandem skydive with an AR-15 strapped on his chest with CLOUDS in the sky....anybody else get chills?

I hear Red Jacket might even take over Darpa...these f**kers are changing the whole damn game.

Red Jacket might fail at actual firearms, but who really cares when your promised a big tannerite explosion at the end of every episode. These guys took the "redneck" out of tannerite.

I wish I could make myself not watch this trainwreck...watch and see, Eugene Stoner will fade away, and when folks mention AR15s...people will instantly think of Will "game changing" Hayden.

Re: Red Jacket

Forgive me for saying but understand i will immeadiatly assume Red Jacket provides an accurate description of all shooters in the US.

The term "game changer" was ACTUALLY mentioned in the most recent episode. Clowns.

Re: Red Jacket

My first post on this forum... Watching the wonderful red jacket show on Netflix and I ask myself: "what general would allow himself to be associated withe these knuckleheads who don't test their product before a demo?"

Some of the guys seem nice enough, but that Idiot Chris takes the cake. I a saw another episode where mis-programmed a CNC lathe and crashed the tool into the chuck.

FYI, to all the forum members if you google "general darden red jacket" this thread comes up first.

Dont forget that they are good at making the first triple AR, the "first" master key, and the first "gattling gun" made with three saiga 12s that just spin around and look all fancy like. They are so overrated I would never even consider buying anything from them.

This thread has some good stuff. Guy I know was on one episode and said it is all the "jobs" are staged BS. They also pay clowns to show up at the local gun shows around here and display their sign but their table is crap.

Re: Red Jacket

Seeing "Flem" weld makes me sick as union Boilermaker. When tig welding there should never be spatter coming from your rig. I am very thankfull for his service to our country but it doesn't seem he knows anything about welding, and Chris is a total douche bag. The show makes 2nd amendment supporters look like dip shits!!! I hate it!!!! Just another "reallity show" thats scipted beyond belief!!!

Thats putting it lightly. The number of times I've tried to explain to some of my friends (who are mostly fudds) makes my mind hurt. They praise these people as if they're the cutting edge of firearms technology, even though in reality, they're a bunch of grown up 15 year olds try to out mod themselves on the AK platform. Take their abortion of a rifle when they take a saiga, and then slap on an MP5 forend, HK diopter sights and a tapco grip and then proclaim the superiority of their "design".

This just in, new episodes will be airing on the local expressways at 5PM. Better get there early to catch a seat.
