It's called a VSR (Visible Signature Reduction) module and is part of the OSS modular suppressor system. The design has three intended purposes, one is to help eliminate the first round bloom you get from suppressors when the oxygen in the can is ignited and as tested by ARDEC (Army Research and Development Command) it eliminated 97% of the first round (and follow up after a pause) bloom. Second, is as a standoff devise for breaching and entry and with the .458 SOCOM 480gr sub-sonic frangible, it’s extremely effective. Third, is as a striking weapon in CQB, VBSS and other extremely close quarters encounters.

So, far from being some red neck bubba's fantasy zombie killer, it was designed by a current Special Forces 18Bravo for very real and practical applications. Test on this were done by veteran SWAT commander and sniper competitor Dave Bahde, so feel free to see what he has to say in current issue of Special Weapons.

Red Jacket is concocted red neck fantasy BS, this isn’t.

I was a body man for 6.5 years and kia's are the least of problematic cars to repair. Now VW and any german car is a true nightmare to take apart. That's why I left that Shit show of a job and now save lives!

The piston AR...nevah bin dun befoe! There will be drama, excitement, frustration, and envy. Will the budding love story between Kris and Steph some to bloom? Will Kris fail on his first major project? I cant wait till tomorrow, the best worst show that I love to hate to watch.

Re: Red Jacket .458 socom

The Master Key was funny because at the beginning of show, they were tryng to make a faster entry without having to take time for one to shoot with breech gun and one to move in with AR. So he made it mounted where you put your shooting hand on the breech gun and then have to transition it back to the AR grip, instead of using left hand to hold mag well like a grip and pull breech trigger left handed and already have right hand ready to fire on the AR lol

Re: Red Jacket

Where was the game changer last night?

All I saw was an incompetent f**ktard trying to put a gamechanger together(piston ar). Let me diagnose the problem, Chris is a tard and could not follow the directions. How are you a gamechanger? You buy other people's shit and assemble it. I can do the same without paying twice the price and not have your logo on it with some black krylon sprayed all over it. I seem to be able to assemble my stuff and I don't work at a gunshop.

I would have to say that if it single fires, it is a piston problem that is a direct result the tard not installing it properly. I am not sure which piston system they used, but like the one Sig and Ruger use have the variable valve, which will turn it into a single shot if not set correctly just like idiot was having happen last night.

I could not of said it better my self. I had an employee of mine ask me today if I ever watched the show, I told him no I had not. He then went on telling me that I need to start watching it, and telling me all about the shit they make, and how the show is the best show on tv. I couldnt tell him I thought the show was retarded.

I laugh my ass off everytime I read this thread, Especially when I see the helmet pic!

Re: Red Jacket

Popcorn? E-Mail sent to Kris this morning.....should be epic.

Kris,

I figured I would let you guys know what the real world is saying about the show and your products. Here is a link to a thread on The Sniper's Hide which is a gun enthusiast forum. I guess I should be telling you guys thanks for giving us so much to talk about. I would encourage you guys to make contact with Lowlight on the forum and see about sending him some of your products to disprove what we all think and have been seeing on the show.

Re: Red Jacket

1) This thread isn't a good representation of how good of a forum this is as far as information & knowledge base.

2) Do you really think they'll read this? Their forum has up to and including 14 members by now I'm sure.

3) Do we really care what they say should they show up and start posting? I mean, they can claim editing and production but the truth is in the results and the words they say which aren't 'photoshopped' so they don't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of to try to argue what's been said here other than some of the personal attacks which are humorous. You don't want personal attacks? Don't make a mockery of something we hold so dear.

4) Kill it with fire.

1) You are correct. They also aren't a good representation of quality firearms manufacturers/gun owners.

2) Don't know if they will read it. I would honestly be interested to see if they would pony up and let LL or someone else test their products without editing. We've seen the youtube videos of some of their stuff not working, but maybe (snicker) they have developed something worth seeing (snicker).

3) See point 3. The personal attacks should be expected honestly. All of it is in good fun really. When you put yourself out there to the public eye stuff happens. Hell look at some of the people who have posted on here for the first time and gotten absolutely roasted and that's on a much smaller level.

4) Agreed.

Edited for this weeks new title. Game changer deeelux

read this... Get on a treadmill for two minutes a day and work up from there before you stroke out on national TV. You guys might claim other people's ideas as your own but none of us actually want to see you in an ambulance (or worse) during an episode.

Re: Red Jacket: The 2012 Piston AR inventors

Did I miss something on how they were going to re-mil a de-mil'd item for a customer? Since when is that legal? I fast forwarded through the beginning so maybe it was explained but I thought that was the whole point to de-mil'ing something in the first place.

Re: Red Jacket

It was just Kris playing a song for Ted Nugent which was awful. Granted it takes some nuts to sing in front of someone like him, but it was still horrible. I guess sarcasm doesn't translate well, it was awesome in a getting your finger nails ripped out by pliers kind of way.

I hope their wielder, i cant rember his name moves on to bigger better things because if he doesn't his carer will be ruined and he wont get a job in a gun store much less a gunsmith as far as im concerned

Re: Red Jacket

Was pretty cool thought to see Uncle Ted bring his whole band. Red Jacket had to give him a 1911 to help out there ratings and to get him on the show.

How many of you think that Vince will not be around much longer.

Kind of crazy we bash the show, but keep watching it..

When it was reported the owner lost his FFL and was working under one of his head gunsmiths, wasn't that Vince? And then it was reported that the one who took over left shortly there after.

I really can't blame him for leaving, they put an apprentice in charge of projects just because the apprentice is playing sucky face with the boss's daughter.

This show should be moved to the Soap Opra Channel. I like watching some of their projects, but the drama I can do without, problem is, drama sells, some dude playing with a lathe doesn't.

If I ran a shop like that, some employee was sniffing around my daughter you'd be watching a project about rindering out the lard of a fat ass to be used to make bullet lube.

hahaha if he leaves, i think he is the only Cert. guns smith their. i dont think any others got their paper work.

Re: Red Jacket

If you go to their website, they have a Christmas card picture that shows everyone but Vince and has some other older guy in the photo. Are we to assume he is already gone, it just hasn't come out yet?

Re: Red Jacket .458 socom

One of the reasons I left akforum.net which was a great resource on AK rifles was their fetish with this show. Red Jacket is a sponsor over there and they had their own sub-section on the forum where people would masturbate to their show and I got nasty things said to me when I pointed out how shitty their stuff actually was.
