I have a little problem with my redding comp neck sizing die. I have tried to adjust it every which way I think is possible, and can still only get it to size 1/2 the neck. I have double checked the die possision, the bushing and cannot figure out why. I have the same die in a .223 and do not have this problem. Has any of you had this problem? If so, how did you fix this problem?

Same thing happens to me with my RCBS .308win dies.

Not sure if it was ever a problem.

So, even if you bottom out your die completely to touch the shell holder when the ram is fully extended, you still only get half the neck sized?

Is this a problem, because if so then i have it too.

I have the Redding comp die as well but I'm getting a little more than 3/4 of the neck re-sized.

If you are shooting a bolt gun, it is not an issue and most bench rest guys actually leave part of their neck unsized as they feel the unsized portion will help center the round in the chamber.

For my semi guns, I use a full length sizing die as I want the extra slop so that I don't have chambering issues.

I use mine for the 308, 708, & 243. got to watch on the latter 2 or you will hit the shoulder. I just set mine up and tried to see how far I could go and it likes.020 doing the whole neck. I am one of those that only does 3/4's or less with mine. Is it possible you have your decapper set out to far and it's bottoming out on the inside of the case? About the only reason I could think of unless it was a miss cut in the sleeve. I have mine set almost to max so I don't harm the 243 and 708 brass. Would be curious to know what you find.
