Redding Titanium Nitrite Bushing what size bushing for a 260? I have a redding type s bushing style full size die #77531 for a 260 Remington .. It is missing a bushing .. what size do I need?

Measure the outer diameter of your loaded case, and then go a size or two smaller than that.

Lapua brass.. measure.out side.diameter of case loaded with a bullet and subtract .002 ? Is what imreading... maybe something like .2970?

I load 139gr lapua in 260 lapua brass, I use .292

I don't load 6.5 calibers but I think 292 is a popular bushing. Measure the neck on one of your loaded rounds and use a bushing that is .001 or .002 smaller. The bushings are often undersized by half a thousandth, so .001 should do you fine.

For my 6.5 CM with necks turned to .013 I use a .288 bushing. Neck thickness will vary by manufacturers and even by lot and probably advisable to get a range of bushings to accommodate varying neck thickness. To determine the proper bushing size I measure the neck thickness, multiply by two, add the bullet diameter then subtract the desired neck tension. To measure neck thickness you will need a tube micrometer.

Like has been said, load a bullet in YOUR lot of brass then measure outside diameter neck of loaded round. Subtract .002".

I went off other's suggestions and my first one was off by .003. If you end up needing a .290" one let me know, will save me sending it back to Brownells.

With RP brass, I was using the .290" and .289" TiN bushings with the former getting most of the work. About .001"-.002" of neck constriction, IIRC.

It was a buddy's gun and the components were his.

Redding "S" dies don't come with a bushing. Or at least they didn't.

Measure a LOADED round on the neck. Minus .002" (Wildly wrong example: .308" - .002" = .306" These are just numbers I pulled out of the air.)

TiN coated bushings are well worth the extra money.
