I just got a 550B for Christmas and I can see they have made some new improvements to the system. At the moment I have two other 550B's that have seen their better days. I heard that Dillon will refurbish the reloaders.

My question: has anyone done that and how much was it and was it worth it? I did a Google search and have seen other people had done it but I wanted to hear from people that have done it recently. Does it bring it back to about a brand new 550?

    thanks in advance.

Last year I got a 650 that has seen a lot of service. It was missing some parts and others needed to be replaced. I called Dillon and they just flat hooked me up. The helped me troubled shoot everything and sent me new parts under warranty. I replaced all the plastic pieces, most of the primer feed parts, all the springs, and a lower piviot rod. I didn't send mine in but Dillon wll take care of anything you need to get it running like new. Cheers.

Dillon will fix you up and only charge shipping. I sent them my ragged out 550 and when it was returned it was better than new. They upgraded it to the 550B .

outstanding...I just put my old one in the box that I got my new one in so I can ready it for shipment. I will call Dillon on Monday and see what they have to say. The reloader is not in bad shape but after looking at the new one there have been some new advancements that I would like to get for my old ones. And it needs some work to make it smooth again.

    Thanks gents.

Definetly talk to them. It is amazing especially now days to see the type of stellar service they offer. It is a "Gold Standard" that all bussiness should strive to achieve! I don't work for them and am not affiliated they are just "That Good". That is also why I tell everyone to get a 550B. Congrats on the new addition to your family of loaders!

About a year ago I broke the handle bracket for my 550. I took a picture of it and sent it to Dillon and by the next week I had a new bracket for my 550. No charge. That 550 was about 23 years old so as you say; they do have great service.

Dillon customer service reputation is what tipped me over their side, when I made my choice for a multi-stage.

I called them on Monday (29 Dec 09) and they told me it is $45.00 and to send it to them for refurbishment. I sent it today (Tuesday) and I will be interested in how it looks when it comes back (my 550 is 22 years old). If it is anything like my new one I will be amazed at how they stand by their product.

Will report back when I receive it from Dillon.

Re: Refurbishment of a Dillon 550B

My dad did me the favor of storing my 650 near a water leak in his barn for a year. I sent it to Dillon and for around $50 it came back looking almost as good as new. Replaced every part that had rust, even a new powder measure. What can I say I screwed up and they fixed it for me. For what ever its worth I have spent at least $1000 with them since they fixed it.

I drop off a 1050 or two almost every time I drive down to Phoenix. They show up a few weeks later good as new.

This April I will most likely drop off my 550.

This is why their presses cost more than others. They will repair/replace parts at no cost should you need them for as long as you own the press. Cant get better than that IMHO!
