First off i would like to say a big THANK YOU to all the members of the hide that have posted in this reloading forum. WIthout you guys i would have NEVER started reloading myself. All of your posts have saved me from tons of trial and errors and thrown away money on B/S equipment or junk. You guys are very informative with a buffet of information. Ok now to my question , its time for me to give annealing a shot ..... now do i anneal then case prep (size , trim ,neck, debur) or do i case prep then anneal? Also after annealed ... would it hurt to run back in the Vibratory case cleaner?

Thank you for any input

Re: Reloading/Annealing question and a THANK YOU!!!

First, clean then anneal, size, trim, debur, chamfer.

Cleaning first will allow you to easily see the heat line come down onto the shoulder and then body. Remove the brass from the flame at that point. 7-10 seconds in the flame should be adequate.

The ID of the necks will be very dry after annealing. Because of this I use the NECO Moly process in my case necks prior to charging the brass with powder.
