I've had my 40X for several years now. I've been having an intermittent issue with light strikes which cause a failure to fire. I'd say it's in the 3%-4% of the rounds fired range. I shoot Wolf Match Target exclusively through this rifle.
I also noticed after having the rifle for awhile that the firing pin appears to have been repaired at some point. You can see where it was brazed, I suspect it may have been broken off.
Just curious is this is something others have experienced or what I might try to rectify the situation. When looking at the fired cases you can tell that they are either being struck with varying amounts of force or the casings are not consistent in their hardness. I'm thinking that consistent strikes may improve the accuracy potential. It shoots very well as it is but if it could be further improved I'm all for it.
