Anyone have any advice for smoothing out the action for bolt pull on a rem 700? I’ve got one that is smooth as butter and another that is pretty catchy/grainy. Both have several thousand rounds through them.
Strip the bolt and action, coat bolt with oil then run it back and forth for a good half hour (watch TV), wipe off and repeat. That will wear all the high points off. You can get more aggressive with lapping compound (keep of lugs) if you think you really need it.
