Hey guys, I have been trying to get 3000fps out of my .243 PSS. I am shooting 105Amaxmoly in Win. cases with RL22. Is this at all possible? I have gotten results of 2860fps with 44g but I am showing some ejector smear. I am in E Washington at about 2400 elev. Is there a better powder for this? The OAL is just kissing.

My Hodgdon #27 manual shows a max velocity of 2930 for the 105 AMax. Since you're only at 2860 and showing pressure signs, the answer to your question appears to be: No.

It's also nice and cold outside, probably more so at 2400 than where I live. If your load is borderline at these temps, in the summertime it could be very bad. Back off a grain or so and find a good accurate load.

Seating at the lands ALWAYS raises pressures. Seat deeper, maybe 60 - 70 thou off the lands, and you can add more powder. Move closer only if you absolutely need to.
