Re: rem 700 sps accuracy
Is the bolt slipping over the round? Make sure the follower is completely flush to the bottom of the receiver. Also make sure you have the internal mag seated correctly. It is possible to pinch it and still fit the receiver screws in. If the bolt is slipping over the rear of the spring is bent downward, if the round is jamming then the the front of the spring is bent. Oh btw, my sps-v and sps-t have a 4 round internal not a 5. It's 4+1, 4 in the mag one in the chamber.
As for your load. You should be able to achieve at least 1moa on the sps. Read up on OCW loading and try to find an acceptable node.
For the sps-v and sps-t 1:12 I found a node at 44.8 of varget under a 168 smk, Noscc, or HNDY match. Also I seat to 2.828: which is still under mag length.
Just work up you loads a little more and you will find the sweet spot. Even if you decide to use the 40 gr, try seating at 2.800, 2.820, 2.830. Especially if you have a cluster of 3 and 2 flyers.
