Is 499.00 for one of these as a donor action a good price?? Thinking of using the action for a new build..

Yep, that is a good price if you are getting the whole rifle. You can take the factory synthetic stock and the factory X-Mark Pro trigger and sell them. Put the funds towards other things.

I took a factory SPS Varmint 308 then put a brand new take off 5R stock and a Shilen trigger and it was a tack driver.

Yep, on the action. If it has the Jlock shroud just replace it... It's still a 7 hundy!

5 bills? you must be picking up a new one... around here a used 700 "donor" at a pawn show would be 400 ish.

Donors are 300 a pop,Factory tubes are 50 a pop and injection handles are dogshit.

I see no upside to the 500 donor,but admittedly it ain't my first rodeo.
