I recently picked up a Remington 700 SPS Tactical in .223. Put 45 rounds down the tube so far and it is a shooter! As I had previously been told on the hide, the Hogue stock is a bit flexible and causes vertical stringing when I use a bipod. Anyway, I was wondering if I could drop this setup into a take-off H&S Precision 5R stock without any problems? My main concern was the barrel channel, but all of my research and searching on the hide suggests that it will fit fine. I just wanted to make sure.

Also, I was wondering if the H&S Stocks were inletted for the factory BDL bottom metal? Will this be compatible as well?

I'm new to modifying Remington 700's and I appreciate the help!

Thanks,

Re: Rem 700 Stock Compatibility

should be if the HS stock is a short action as well. Not sure on the factory bdl inlet though. You should be ok. Someone will come along and chime in on the inlet
