Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!
An M24 trainer in 223 built for my son (he's 4 mo old, so I guess I'll have to break it in for him). C Prefix 700P action and barrel skim bedded in an HS stock w/ adjustable LOP + HS detachable mag system + badger 30MOA base + Leupy MK4 3x9 PR scope and rings. When his big brother (a spec M24) is built in a few months, I'll send this one out again to get the action blueprinted, etc.
Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em
My wifes .308win SPS-T with a Surefire brake waiting for the McMillan stock to arrive and my .308win 700P/PSS that's been re-stocked and trimmed to 22" & braked.
Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!
Model 700 SPS 5R in .223
baush and lomb 6-24x on it for now but eventually it will get a Falcon 5-25x, EGW 20MOA rail and burris XTR rings. would also like to drop it in a mcmillan a3-5 or a5 at some point.
Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!
Here's my .308 LTR:
She may not be the fanciest rifle but she's my baby.
-Topped with a Tasco Varmint/Target 2.5-10x42AO Mildot scope (no snickering please)
-TIS Slip-Cuff Sling
-Installed the flush cups myself
-Did the stock texturing myself too but I think I used too much because I got hills instead of peaks. I'll have to go over it again with just a skim of Marine-Tex.
-Needs Karsten cheekpiece and some Krylon.
Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!
Here's my new SPS Tactical in .308. I ditched the shitty Hogue stock and got this stock from Randy Landen of Landtec. It started out as just a plain old HS stock from a 700 PSS. Randy added an adjustable comb, a kick ezz butt pad and he also added mercury recoil reducers in the forearm. He bedded the mercury cylinders into the forearm so they are completely enclosed. He also painted and textured the stock. I had him lap the lugs, rails, mag follower, firing pin, and feed ramp. He also recrowned the muzzel, checked the firing pin protrusion which was .498, and headspaced it at 1.632. This rifle came with the new version of the Xpro trigger that has screw on the outside of the trigger that adjusts the pull weight. It's wearing a Vortex Viper 6.5-20X50 mil dot in Burris Rings on an EGW 20moa base. I can't wait to get to the range with it now that it's finished. The one time I had it to the range before the improvements, it shot around .75 moa with the shitty stock on it!
Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!
Pretty basic, but I like it. I'm deploying in December and will be sending some money to my dad to have some work done to it while I'm gone. .223 and a Millett TRS-1 scope
Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!
Remington 700 LTR in 6.8 SPC. I really didn't want a .223 bolt gun as my SPR upper serves me well on the AR platform. Plus I'd rather send a larger round down range since good quality ammo is about the same cost between the two calibers.
Re: Rem700 SPS,LTR,PSS Precsion Rifle: Lets See Em'!
Alright, I sold the HS stock off of my rig and bought an adjustable HTG from John @ JW Precision. Here she is along side my wifes urban camo HTG also from JW Precision (also seen pictured further up the thread).
308win PSS w/adj HTG McMillan, 22"bbl, Williams bottom metal, Ops Inc, USO ST-10
With the wifes SPS-T, HTG McMillan, Surefire brake, Leupold Mk4.
