fairly new to bolt guns, I bought a REM 700 6.5CM from a guy and he said it had a trued action and re shouldered factory 5R barrel.. what does he mean by re shouldered and any benefit to it?
When truing an action, a small amount of material is typically removed from the action face. This changes headspace, and now the barrel will not fit without re-machining the shoulder, and may require reaming the chamber.
