I have been thinking about getting a new rem 11-87 sportsman synthetic in 12ga. Currently have rem 870 epxpress. Does anyone have any experience with this shotgun? I had a 11-87 sp in the past and it was a good gun. A lot of the reviews I have read online have not been good. Your comments and experience about this gun are welcome. Would be using it for pheasant, waterfowl and deer hunting.

Re: remington 11-87 sportsman

My son and I have 3 of them between us. We use them for Duck/Goose and Turkey hunting. All 3 are stone reliable and shoot better than any of the 3 high dollar Benellis that I've owned. Learn proper maintenance and lubrication procedures for the Remington and it will run like a champ for lifetime!

I have had Mossbergs winchesters and a few no brands. Rem 11-87 will run forever. It is however a heavy gun to carry. I usually use a win pump or a moss 9300 semi for pheasent and my rem for ducks, deer anything where there is not a lot of carrying. price of being old

Re: remington 11-87 sportsman

Thanks for the reply. The rem 11-87 sp that I had some years ago was a heavy gun, but worked every time I pulled the trigger. I will probably get the 11-87 sportsman. Another reason is it is made in the U S A.
