Good morning all. Here is a rifle that I have owned for a few years. 1967 manufacture Remington 40-XB/R in 7.62 NATO, clip slotted repeater. I am the third owner, with the gentleman I bought it from having it since the early 90s, purchased from the original owner (man was in his 90's in the early 1990's and liquidating his collection), who fired it very little, with all the competition accesories the man had purchased for use with the rifle. I substituted the "original" Unertl 14x with a 20x 2" Unertl target telescope. The man I bought it from is a personal friend who is very trustworthy, and he stated he bought it with the whole "kit", put RIG grease in the bore, and put it away, never fired it. The original owner gave him a box of fired brass for the last time the rifle had been fired, with a Sierra load data decal dated to 1968. What a time capsule! For what I have seen, 40-X clip slotted repeaters in 7.62x51 are fairly rare. Checked the barrel twist and it came out to be 1:12 twist, indicating it being a Palma rifle. Pictured with accesories that include a set of Redfield International Match front and rear sights, with inserts. Shooting jacket is from my own collection.
