I've got the .22LR and the .22mag versions. both quite accurate rifles out of the box. 1" is no problem. Only problems I have had are with the mags causing FTF, FTE, you name it it flat didn't want to work. I've now upgraded all my mags to GEN 3 (circle 10) mags on the .22LR and GEN 2 on the .22mag and have had no problems whatsoever. Also been lucky with the ProMag 22 round hi cap working flawlessly. No hi caps for the .22 mag are available.
The 10/22 does have moreo aftermarket parts available if that's a consideration but either can be built to shoot really small groups at 50 and 100yds. They are lots of fun and cheap shooting compared to center-fire calibers.
