Remington 5r

i was recently on gun broker and someone is advertising a new 5r in 223. I know it has been discussed here as a request/potential new rifle but has remington actually produced it yet? As i have not seen it here i am doubtful but i am sure if it is avialable then somone on the Hide will know. Again they are advertising as NIB from Remington, not a re-barel. Also all the boxes they show in the pictures are labeled 308 NOT 223

Yes, they're available. I spoke with the distributor for these (AcuSport), and they had a small pile of the new .223s, but none of the .300s. I'd have grabbed one for stock, but the .223s are (regrettably), in 1-9" twist.

1:9 is still better than a standard 1:12 on the SPS. If anyone got one and wanted to rebarrel to a tight twist I would buy the 5R barrel.
