Recently joined after reading several posts and am impressed by the helpfullness of members. I recently was give a Remington Model 700 in .243 from a friend who had just the bolt stolen and have been unable to find one. Anybody have any suggestion?? Thanks for the help.

They can also be purchased aftermarket, but depending on the rifle, it might be a bit pricey.
Whether you find a factory bolt, or buy an aftermarket, have someone check the headspace to make sure it's safe.

What are your plans for the gun? If this is a future long range build or something like that, a donor action, I would send the action to a qualified smith like Nathan Dagley and have them fit a PTG bolt to the action. If you are looking for the cheap route for a beat around .243.. then you might be able to find a bolt used on Gunbroker, but as advised above, you will need to have the headspace checked. If there needs to be changes to the headspace, you could end up in a situation where it costs you more money to fix than it would have cost to have a PTG bolt fitted.

I have a couple extra Remington bolts if you still need. I get $105 shipped for them
