I have just purchased a Remington 700 30-06 and need to find a good scope for it. I was looking at the Nikon Monarch 4-16X50 Side Focus with BDC. I will be using the gun for deer an coyote hunting as well as just target shooting. Most shots will be between 100 to 500 yards. What i am looking for is a scope that has BDC for quick target acquisition but also has turrets that once zeroed in i can just turn them to the correct marked distance and be on target without having to count click and so forth. Is this possible with this set up and where can i get the turrets? Thank you to all suggestions.

Re: Remington 700 30-06 Rifle Scope Needed

I highly recommend you stay away from BDC turrets, as they are very situation dependent. As in, if you change altitude, bullet weight, barrel length, or charge and not to mention if you ever change calibers or want to put the scope on a different rifle it will be a mess. If your heart is just set on BDC leupold will work up a custom turret for you, you just give them your data, conditions and go to town. It would be better IMHO to get a scope with click count, make yourself a dope card and stick to the side of your rifle, that way you just get your range dial up to your value and hammer away, check out the Vortex viper PST 4-16x50, it's a great value and has been making a good name for itself lately with the few that have trickled in.
