Remington 700 ADL Fleur De Lis?

Not exactly a typical 'Snipershide' rifle topic, but maybe somebody here will know something...

Was in Bass Pro today and in one of their locked glass displays they had a 700 ADL with a 22" (I think) 243 sporter barrel, but it had a fairly simple wood stock with fleur-de-lis engraved/stamped into the checkering in lieu of the standard plastic ADL stock. It was priced at $429, so it almost followed me home...but I figured I'd do some research about its suitability as a donor.

My Google-fu struck out looking for info on this rifle, so does anybody here know if this was a limited run, a distributor special, or _________? The guy working the gun counter had no idea.

Remington used the shitty stamped (impressed) fleur de lis checking along with that super glossy finish on their long guns in the late 70's to the early 80's. I haven't seen it since then. The rifle should have a slightly subdued blued finish. Not black oxide, not bead blasted, nor high luster, but a subdued blue.

That's kind of what I thought...but this rifle was brand new with the X-Mark Pro Trigger.

Kind of a plain wood stock with a flat finish, not bad looking but definitely not fancy.

I believe it is a 700 Sportsman. Remington did a special run (or two, or three) during 2011 and 2012. Most of the big box dealers were able to get these runs. I've seen them in Sportsmans Warehouse, Dicks, and Bass Pro. At Sportsmans Warehouse here in Utah, they are available in magnum, long and short action calibers for about $460.00-$499.00. They are available in blued and stainless. I think the ones I've seen come with a polished bolt (rather than the jeweled bolt of the BDL/CDL). Hope that helps with your searching.
