I'm sure this question has been asked before but I couldn't find it in a search. Is the cheapest way to get a donor action for a build to buy a 700 ADL. I will be using some type of aftermarket magazine for the bottom metal just haven't decided which one. I would like any ideas anyone has. Also I do not have a lathe so I'll have to send it out to be trued.

This was an adl when it started life.

. Adl.will be fine

Yup, ADL will work fine. All M700 receivers are the same-- it's just which box/magazine set up they have installed. The ADL's are cheaper, and if you're going to use aftermarket bottom metal anyways, it makes sense.

As far as aftermarket bottom metals go, think about what you want first: do you want a chassis system (like the AICS) or a more traditional stock like a McMillan?

Personally, I went with the AICS and love it. Also just like EasyGravy I started with an ADL also.

Another option is to get a Manners stock with the mini chassis; kind of a mix of both worlds situation.

As far as bottom metals go though, hard to go wrong with Badger Ordnance and they can inlet your stock along with a lot of other smiths out there.
