Hello gunsmithing forum. I bought a Timney trigger for my stock Remington 700 ADL in .308. I experienced light primer strikes and contacted Timney. They sent be a different sear and now I get 100% primer strikes. I cracked the plastic trigger guard during installation and just received a new metal one from Midway. Upon installing the new metal trigger guard, the sear drops when I close the bolt. I loosened the trigger guard screws and the trigger holds the sear. When I tighten the rear action screw on the trigger guard to anything above touching, the sear drops when I cycle the bolt. I typically torque the rear action screw to 20 ft lbs. If I put 2 ft lbs or more the sear drops when I cycle the bolt. It works fine when I have no pressure on the rear action screw. Has anyone ever had this problem? Is there anything I should try to fix this? Any feedback would be appreciated.
