I just picked one of these up in very good condition. It doesn't look like it has been shot much. Ive been working up a load and found a load that shoots .5 moa at 100 yds and plan on trying it at 300 and 500 soon. My question is how much can be improved by a new barrel and getting the action trued. How long will the factory barrel last compared to a custom maker.
Thanks

That is more than good enough, providing it continues to shoot well at distances.

IIRC, those are 1:9" barrels and don't do well with long, heavy match bullets like the 130 VLD or the 140 VLD.

Providing it groups with the bullets you intend to shoot, I'd leave it.
