i was wondering what kind of accuracy i can get with a rem 700P LTR? i was wondering how good the shorter barrel is compared to the standard

The barrel length wont really matter, i know guys who shoot 1/2" with 20" and hit gongs at 1000 yards.
Its the shooter, the scope, the bullet.
I have heard good things about the LTR, so you should be good to go.
Give us a range report.

Usually less than 1 MOA with good ammo and an able shooter. I have a SPS Tactical in an LTR stock and I can hold less than 1 MOA with my handloads.

i have a standerd police with 26in. barrel and it shoots 3 inch groups and 400 all day long.

For a factory gun, I don't think you will be disappointed with the results. You won't get the velocity out of the barrel that you would with a custom tube but the accuracy is there. I have a custom rig I had built and I can't tell much difference in accuracy b/t the two. It's hard to improve on consistent .5-.75" groups.
