Does anyone know how to tell if a Remington M24 is the real deal or a clone? Looking into buying one for sale and always leery spending that much money on something and not knowing if it's real or not.

They are the real deal...they shoot too
7115148
7115149

10 rounds M118LR @100 yds
7115152

Note how the receiver markings are offset on the M24. To replicate those markings on a standard Rem 700 would require an awful amount of work and the removed metal would be easily detectable.

I can't help you with what to look for, but the one piece of advice that stuck with me when shopping for a vintage watch was that rather than focus on the item in question, focus on the reputation of the seller.

What do you mean by real deal?

I assume you're looking for one of the reproductions from Remington in a "bring back" stock?

Actually, they are real commercial M24 barreled actions...Uncle Sugar still owns the original mil contract receivers for the M2010 rifle program.

Also, you can by an off the shelf brand new M24 SWS.

I get what you're saying, but to me "real commercial" vs "reproduction" is like "To-may-to" vs "To-mah-to"
