I have an all original Model 7 stainless that Im looking to get a nicer stock for. You can now get Model 7's with H-S stocks that look to be pretty nice. Bell and Carlson also makes stocks for model 7's. Both are fully aluminum bedded as well. The H-S is $460 and B&C is $285.

Any of you guys have any thoughts or suggestions? Anyone have a H-S take off for sale?!

I picked up a B&C replacement for my Model 7. It was a factory rifle in 260 Rem. It had the short pencil contour barrel, which I didn't like and ended up replacing it with a 20" X-caliber barrel.

Never shot it in its original configuration but it was a sub-MOA rifle with the upgrades. Handy little rifle that was a nice option to humping my normal hunting rifles. Kick myself for selling that rifle.

I haven't had issue with the bell and Carlson stocks I've had in the past. Some of their designs suit me better than the HS stuff and the price is right. I'd look over the models and try to hold them to see what fits best. They are both used on OEM guns, so your local store may have a model with the stock for you to try for fit.

I have three B&C on different model 7's. Great stock for the price. A definite upgrade over the factory stock. I actually have one I am trying to sell if you are interested? I thought I had another model 7 coming my way, but plans changed. So, now I have a brand new B&C black with Gray web, never been mounted to a rifle.

Is this stock still available? I know the thread is a bit old just curious? Also conversation message sent. Thanks.
