Remington SPS tactical stock fitting problem

I have a Rem. SPS tactical that had the Hogue stock on it. I recently got a H-S precision stock for it as a replacement. When I tried to fit it the trigger was very tight and the bolt release latch would get depressed when I tightened the action to the stock. The bolt wouldn't stay in the receiver. I ended up using my dremel to take off some of the bottom aluminum (I think thats what it is) from it and finally got it to fit without the bolt release catching. Does anyone think that doing that will hurt or weaken it? It works fine now. Yes I am saving up for real bottom metal. Also will the H-S bottom metal work fine since i had this problem?

You took off the wrong spot from what you are saying.

There is a difference in the old Rem trigger and the new Xmark trigger and thats where the fit issue comes from.

If you still have the hogue stock take both stocks and lay them side by side and look at the inlet where the safety is on the back right side of the inlet and look at how they are different .... you need to inlet the HS stock at the back to make it look like the Hogue stock does or you will continue to have issues with the fit.

I had to do it when I traded out the Hogue for a old take off HS .... although I didnt have a dremel, I did it with ahnd files.

Mine dropped right in as well. Although the hinged floorplate doesn't sit flush with the stock. Will that be an issue? I can post pics if necessary.

I answered my own question this afternoon at the range. When I loaded all 4 rounds it wouldn't load the next round after firing and ejecting then moving the bolt forward. So the first time I pulled the bolt back and no brass ejected, squeezed the trigger and it went click not bang. Then I pulled the bolt back again and watched myself move the bolt forward and noticed that it wasn't grabbing the round and loading it in the chamber. I didn't mess with it while I was at the range I just dropped the floor plate and loaded my rounds individually. I think I might have to file some stuff on the stock just not sure what. I will dissasemble the weapon and look at it tomorrow. Any suggestions before I attempt to fix my problem? Any one else have a similar issue?
