Remington VSSV .308

A strange thing happened at the range yesterday.
Remington VSSV .308. It loads Blackhills factory match no problem.
But would not chamber ball, or my normal .308 reloads.
Is this due to extremely tight tolerances?

"ball" as in 7.62x51 NATO, the chambers are not the same.

reloads, how did you set up your full length die? did you measure headspace if so what tool did you use?
