Mornin' gents

Thought i'd start with the experts. Shoot a 5R in .308 with a 24" tube. Am looking at Bergers new line of ammo and saw a .308 load that sends a 168 gr Berger Classic Hunter bullet. Thought about giving it a try. My question is : Specs state that optimum accuracy is achieved by way of a 1:13 twist. My Remmy is 1:11.25. Sooooooo, whadda ya think boys? Worth $42.00/box to find out? Appreciate the feedback. Know there's a hell of a lot of members out there that aren't as challenged as me when it comes to ballistics and twist rate. The Best. Spike

I read an article ,where they compared a 1-11 vs a 1-7 .308 .They compared them using a 175 out of both barrels ,from 100 to 1200 yards. They basically said you can't over stabilize any bullet.accuracy wise at 100 they were equal, but when they stretched it out the 1-7 had tighter groups . Take it for what it's worth.

For what it's worth, my DTA loves 168gr SMK out of a 1:11 twist, so I would say your rifle will stabilize the round just fine. Whether your rifle will "like" the bullet is a different story. My DTA loves the SMK, but really seems to hate AMAX
