Removable Muzzle Brake, what do you recommend?

Re: Removable Muzzle Brake, what do you recommend?

Im thinking the same thing...

Currently running a Roedale C21 Muzzle brake. Its not bad, but i would prefer something with threading.

Im looking at the Badger Ordnance FTE Brake as it has threading and also has a tension screw. By using this I would be able to screw on the brake and then lock it down, which means Its not a hassle removing it and getting it back on in the proper orientation.

I have a FTE and a RAD. Both work but, the RAD is smaller, looks better, and is cheaper. My smith said it was an easier install as well. True or not, I dont know.

30 is cheap, damn. What I dont like is the fact that it will exhaust down into the dirt and blow shit all over and it looks like it would be tough to remove once tightened down and fired a bunch.

Cant say enough good stuff about the RAD! Love mine. Easy to remove and Re-Install with out screwing up the indexing of it.

Yep, brakes blow shit around. Gonna have to deal with that. Worth it to see hits. I determined it's not worth blocking off the bottom half holes.

Never had a problem getting one off with my hands. I do try to keep a little grease on the threads.

Easy fix if you get one stuck though, all you'd have to do is run a rod through the holes & turn it off.

Baker break: My 308 is less than my AR15.

excuse my ignorance, but on average, what will it cost to have this installed? i dont know a lot about the machine prices involved.

Re: Removable Muzzle Brake, what do you recommend?

Do a search. There is plenty of info available. Use a good smith that indexes off the bore, and get a brake/thread that you can run a common suppressor on so you don't have to buy an adaptor. Harrell's will work with you on getting the correct threading on their brakes, I believe.
