I can't speak to the Bushnell, but ive used denatured alcohol on a lint free cloth to get unwanted markings off scopes. If they clearcoated over it, id say bad idea.
Many owners are very particular about their scopes, like me. It's my guess if you do anything to the scope you will hurt the resale value if you ever decide to sell it.
I removed mine with automotive lacquer thinner on a cotton cloth and some elbow grease.
Held the saturated cloth over the logo for about a minute and then started rubbing on it till it had completely faded away.
I tested the under side of the scope first to make sure that the thinner wasn't to hot for the black finish.
Both sides came off without a hitch, only the yellow paint ever showed up on the cloth no black what so ever.
Test first and make sure.
I used a qtip with lacquer thinner from Home Depot. Slam dunk easy with no marks to the black finish. Looks like it came from the factory this way. It just looks out of place and plus with the butler caps even more out of place. I would recommend this to anyone that has a bushnell scope! If anyone wants picture of the finished product let me know!
hows the glass on the bushnell xrs 4.5-30x50? im debating on buying one, would like to here from some owners of the scope. i had a vortex razor hd 5-20x50 for my last scope. curious how the glass compares.
Go down a few threads on the 2014 scope shootout. Theres a link where they compare quite a few scopes including the Bushy's and Razor. It helped me answer quite a few questions for sure.
