Removing Sling Loop on AX Chassis - Possible?

Looking for some sage advice. Waiting on the delivery of my 2.0 AX Chassis for my Short Action Remington 700 and in searching online came across a review that laid into the fact that there is a sling loop sticking off the right side just in back of the QD mount close to where the bolt handle falls? For those that have an AX Chassis for a Short Action Remington 700 are there any issues with hitting the loop as you rack the bolt? If so, anybody removed that piece?

if its the same as on all the other folders, I did not hit it running the bolt but I hated it and it was useless to me so I cut it off with a drimmel, sanded smooth and painted it black.....
