I hate to admit this, but, I'm a cali native. Born in San Jose, lived there until age ten.
I came back from Germany in '84, got stationed in San Berdoodoo, and actually, enjoyed my time there. People were decent, sure, like everywhere else, you had sh#t holes, but, most places/people were good.
I would NOT want to live there in any way now. Sucks, because, I've got a daughter/grandkids out there and I have to fight with the wifey about going there. I do NOT want to spend not one red cent in that F'n place.

I'm all for paying "reparations" with a few conditions, I have a math formula we can use to decide who gets what.
line 1 = the total amount the scum of the earth feel we owe them for someone in their family working 150 years ago. ( all figures to be adjusted to 2020 dollars for the entire formula)
line 2 = subtract the total amount we have paid in welfare, public housing, food stamps, free education, prison costs, free utilities, Medicaid, free cell phones and free transportation since 1900.
line 3 = subtract the total costs of all shoplifting, theft, robberies, riots, lootings and burnings of private property committed by "people of color" since 1900.
line 4 = add in the total amount of damages whitey has caused thru theft, robberies, riots, lootings and burning of the property of "people of color" since 1900.
line 5 = take the resulting figure if it is a positive amount and divide it by the total number of people claiming to be victims of slavery. As with elections absolutely no proof of previous condition of servitude is required, no proof of race is required and no proof of citizenship is required. Essentially anyone can claim to be a victim in this process regardless of physical appearance or their ability to prove they or their processors ever lived in America prior to 1861 or suffered from slavery.
Subtract 20% for lawyers and race baiting preachers to divide among themselves from the total amount, they can use this to pay for their illegitimant children and mistresses.
Anyone signing up is forever excluded forever from this day forward until the end of time from claiming "racism" as a reason for whatever failure they are having in their lives and must agree to be treated like a grown up and be responsible for their own actions.

Makes one think about moving to Ca if your allowed to take 1K from each store. Your gas,food,clothes,dinners and etc is all basically free all you have to cover is mortgage and utilities.
Wow, great idea. If they dont even arrest you for <$1000 you just make a career out of small jobs. Eat Prime Rib every night, drink the best bourbons., and a great climate. Rent? Pffft, you just find an empty house and move right in, new locks, and it takes months to get you out.

The real question is, do we adjust our morals to fit those who believe, and approve, and make opportunity, and treat those people in kind? Meaning, can we steal and loot and riot without compromising our own moral character due to this is approved behavior by the State and, apparently, those being victimized. I don't see any of these business' coming out and admonishing this behavior. in fact, they seem to encourage and support it fully through their own PR departments vis a vis marketing and advertising.

no shit there i was…..i actually moved to california back in july. Anaheim, alisa viejo, huntington beach. went up to the mountains in mammoth lakes, too.
i have to tell you, all i read and heard is NOT what i experienced. it was one of the most beautiful places i’ve ever been. and the people there were VERY friendly. even strangers.
i came back only due to the governer’s ramped up covid bullshit. granted, i was in orange county, and i hear that the “orange curtain” keeps out a lot of the bullshit.
